Guess Who's Back?

Hello there Beauties!

It's been a long time! I feel so bad knowing that I came here and promised (to myself) that I would be consistent and post every Sunday. Well, life happened. Here are the updates since I last posted in June:

  • I had breakfast at the French Embassy in Jamaica with the French Ambassador.
  • I celebrated my 23rd birthday on June 10th. It was simple, really. I ate cake, slept, drank some Bailey's Rum Cream, ate KFC, and watched a movie. I had other priorities that did not involve a huge celebration. I was never an over-the-top birthday celebrant anyway.
  • I travelled to the United States of America to become a Camp Counsellor at the beautiful Granite YMCA Camp Foss for 9 long but amazing weeks. (Since camp is technology-free, this explains most of my absence with posting.) It was great being unplugged, but also quite lonely.
  • While at camp, I:
    • connected with people from Mexico, Spain, Hungary, Colombia, Poland, Sierra Leone, and all over the US
    • watched the sunrise on the lake
    • went stargazing
    • saw fireworks
    • Tried different types of food from different cuisines.
    • went to my first-ever Pride Event; this was so interesting and cool to see.
    • had a movie night
    • had smores around a campfire
    • learned so many cool and interesting camp songs
    • went to a freezing beach (I've never been to a beach that wasn't warm) - it was either Passaconaway Beach or Long Island Beach, I forget which one
    • went to a diner for the first time (it had the checkered floors and everything)
    • taught archery, and ropes (both high) courses to campers
    • learned how to throw Tomahawks, and gained skill verification in teaching that target sport
    • went to a thrift store for the first time
    • hiked a mountain trail (the Artists' Bluff Trail in Franconia Notch), it was so beautiful
    • went for a boat ride on Echo Lake
    • went paintballing for the first time
    • saw the Nubble Lighthouse in York, Maine (breathtaking)
    • had so much fun
It's a new month, a new season, a new era, and a new and hopeful Bella. I am looking forward to what the rest of the year brings, as I continue pushing through whatever life has to offer. I am trying not to dwell on the fact that had I not quit school when I did, I would have been starting my final year in college. It's a hard blow moving from an 'I-am-a-2025-graduate' to an 'I-don't-know-when-I'll-graduate' girly, but everything in time, and everything in its own season. I hope to stay consistent with posting here, and to continue with my 'Rewiring My Mind' series.

Until next week, toodles.

QOTD: How was your summer?
