Forget Just Surviving…. For 2025, Let’s Live!
Happy New Year!
I wish you all best wishes for 2025. May your cup never run dry, and may blessings follow you this year. I wish you a year filled with opportunities, success, triumph, favour, peace, joy, and love. Here’s to the new year!
How did you start your new year? Me, I spent the new year in Paris! Can you believe it? Me either. I saw the Sacré-Cœur, the Louvre (not the inside because it was closed), the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, the Seine, and the Champs-Élysées. It was so surreal knowing that I read about these places in school, learnt about them, did projects on them, and got to see them in real life. Such a magical experience, even though I was so coldddd.
Anyway, let’s get into this week’s post. As I was travelling back from Paris, I thought about how my anxiety cripples and prevents me from living a fruitful life. If you’ve ever seen me anxious then you know what I’m talking about. It’s not only about the fear, it’s also about the unknown, and the outcome. It’s kinda like being scared, being frustrated with being scared, and dreading what will happen because of this fear and frustration. It’s a never-ending cycle.
You know what my problem is? I keep thinking about the future (the end) and not the present, make myself anxious, and worry. The worst part about it is my mind will gaslight me and tell me that I’m planning ahead. The reality is I like to feel the security of knowing what’s next, however, it is fairly impossible to control the future. I have come to the realisation that when I neglect the present because I’m worried about the future, my life passes me by and suddenly I’m 23.
We spend too much time thinking about what’s next, and not nearly enough time enjoying what we have now. Yes they say life is short, but is it? For 2025, let’s all try to enjoy the now. Enjoy the fruits of your labour. Live. Memba mi tell unu seh life out deh fi live? Live man. Dream big. Do the thing you’ve always wanted to do. Try something new. Travel. Explore. Learn something you’ve always wanted to learn.
Yes, life is short, but you still have to make the most of it. I want to be remembered for living and not just existing. That’s one of my 2025 goals.
QOTD: What is something you’ve always wanted to learn/do, and how will you work on it this year?
Love from all ends,
Bella
