HAPPY NEW YEAR BEAUTIES!!!!

Hello there Beauties!

Happy New Year, one and all! I hope this year is your best one yet! I know 2025 was a rough year for most. Maybe you didn't achieve all your goals. Maybe you didn't accomplish all you set out to accomplish. Maybe you didn't live up to your vision board. Maybe it was just not that great. Whatever it is, be grateful that you have a clean slate, a chance to start all over. Grab that chance with both hands because many are not stepping into the new year. I pray an abundance of blessings, love, joy, peace, and answered prayers for the new year. May all your 2026 dreams come true.

In recent years (maybe as of 3 years ago), I haven't been setting any New Year's resolutions because I find that they don't work for me. I end up disappointing myself because my "dreams" feel way too out of reach. Instead, I try to set intentions. The number one way I try to implement this is by assigning a focus word for the entire year. Last year's word was gratitude. For this new year, the focus is discipline. Another way I set intentions is by taking things one month at a time. When I do this, it makes the year feel less like this incomprehensible, unimaginable period of time in front of me, and more like something manageable. It's like one slice of cake versus the whole thing. For me, it makes this so much easier to plan around and to digest, and if I don't achieve something this month, there's always next month. Makes sense?

Being ambitious is hard, so I know life feels super crazy right now, especially for those of us in our early/mid-twenties. Be intentional about what you want, but also be realistic (achievable/doable/manageable), and at the same time, extend grace to yourself (just in case it does not work out quite how you want it to). For instance, my top goals/ priorities for January are:
  • drink more water
  • have at least one fruit per day
  • post 4x to this blog
  • save some money
  • 10k steps at least once per week
  • more baking
  • apply to more jobs (this includes building skills as well)
And that is it. Nothing too serious, nothing too major. In this current season of my life, all these are bite-sized, manageable goals that I can easily accomplish if I am intentional about them. Take life for what it is, and not so much what you want it to be. Be very intentional about all your aspirations and your goals. You have all it takes to be great, just tap into it.
