Hello there Beauties!

How was your week? I spent the entire week fussing over how much stuff I have. I definitely have a hoarding mindset, but it doesn't seem as serious as it should. Cause why do I have so much stuff?

Anyway, I have the most amazing news. You all must know by now that I am a yapper (well, it should be obvious from the way I come here yapping every week), so I decided to yap somewhere else. I STARTED A YOUTUBE CHANNEL!!!!!! I have been going over this decision back and forth for a while because I am afraid of perception and judgement. I also fear oversharing online and suffering the consequences of a digital footprint (whether good, or not so good - but mostly good).  I created the email address I wanted to associate with the channel, I created the channel, I created a content plan, and made the intro, but I sat poring over whether I should post or not.

Posting any type of content on social media opens you up to so much everything: comments, perception, opinions, feedback (solicited or unsolicited), advice (solicited or unsolicited), criticism, etc... It also gives people some level of access to you that you may or may not ever escape from. I see it every day: people love hiding behind free speech to either tear people down or participate in all kinds of one-sided parasocial relationships with people they think they have access to. Also, the judgement is insane. People who share tidbits of their lives online seem to have no privacy, and people seem to judge their whole lives based on snippets they choose to share. It is all so crazy.

However, after a conversation with a past friend, I realized that no matter how much I fight to explain myself and show who I really am, some people just won't see it. As a retired people-pleaser, I have always felt the need to defend myself and my character even in situations where I wasn't the one in the wrong. Even when I am in the wrong and apologize, I still have to defend myself and my character. I say this all to say that there are people who will see you, and people who won't.

I have decided that I have a voice, and as much as my mind tries to tell me otherwise, I have a lot to offer. So, join me on my YouTube journey. I hope you guys enjoy the content I will put out (I am aiming for one video weekly). This is also your reminder to live life out loud, follow your dreams, and forget the naysayers.

QOTD:  What type of content would you guys like to see?

Love from all ends,
Bella
